Artist Terry Jane Eva Brady is a adnyamathana / yankunytjatjara mother and grandmother ,

Born in old  leigh creek her weekends were spent on her mother Rosie  Brady (nee Wilton )yarta a traditional lore yuratu . While school holiday were reserved for visits back to her father Njuka Bradys country who was a traditional Yankunytjatjara man .

Culture and family were important to Terry’s parents which as a mother /grandmother herself now insures knowledge which was passed down to her is shared  via  her many art works.

This art work is a depiction of the Adnyamathanha traditional marriage ceremony , 

The ceremony is a  spiritual and physical celebration of two becoming one not only  between the couple but a bringing together of tribes which the whole tribe participated in a sign that the marriage was excepted.

which her mother ( ngami) and father ( mumma) had to have done in the 1930s .

 The hands a symbol of togetherness and community (which are her children’s who are from the Wirangu / kookatha on their fathers side .)

The image of the printi (Ngiṉṯaka ) is her father’s totem .
